What does this corrections policy mean for you?
If you spot an error in an article on Wochenanalyse.de, we want to hear about it. This page explains how we handle mistakes: how to report them, what happens after you do, and who is responsible for making sure corrections are applied properly and transparently. Use the contact details below to get in touch, and we will investigate promptly.
Our editorial mission is built on trust. That trust depends on readers knowing that when we get something wrong, we will put it right. Every correction we publish is a chance to improve our reporting and to show you that we take accuracy seriously. The process is straightforward and designed to be fair both to you and to our journalists.
How do I report an error?
Please send details of the error to corrections@wochenanalyse.de. Include the article headline, the URL where you saw the mistake, and a short explanation of what you believe is incorrect. You can also use this email if you are unsure whether something is wrong but want us to check.
If you prefer, you may use our general contact form or write to the newsdesk at newsdesk@wochenanalyse.de – but the corrections address reaches our fact‑checking team directly. We acknowledge all reports within two working days, and you will receive a response even if we determine that no change is needed.
Who handles correction requests?
Lea Schreiber, our fact‑checking lead (emma.sandberg@wochenanalyse.de, +46 8 525 030 66), runs the standards desk that investigates every reported error. She and her team review the original sources, speak with the reporter and editor, and decide whether the claim is materially incorrect. If the mistake relates to a serious factual error, the matter is escalated to editor‑in‑chief Peter Weber (anders.lindqvist@wochenanalyse.de, +46 8 525 030 61).
Lea Schreiber’s team works independently from the daily newsroom to avoid any conflict of interest. They log every report and track whether a correction is eventually issued. You can read more about how we verify sources in our fact‑checking policy.
What kind of errors get corrected?
We correct any material error – a wrong name, number, date, quotation, or factual claim that could mislead a reader. Minor typos that do not affect meaning may be silently fixed, but any change that alters the sense of an article will be marked with an explicit correction note.
We also update articles when new information emerges that changes the interpretation of a story, provided the original was accurate at the time of publication. In those cases we add a note explaining the update and when it was made. Sponsored or affiliate content carries the same commitment; if we discover an error in a labelled commercial piece, we treat it identically.
How this works in practice
Imagine we published an article stating that the Swedish inflation rate for October 2024 was 2.3%. A reader notices that the correct figure, according to Statistics Sweden, is 2.1%. You email corrections@wochenanalyse.de with the link. Lea Schreiber’s team checks the official data, confirms the error, and records it. Within 24 hours the article is updated: the figure changes from 2.3% to 2.1%, and at the bottom of the page we add a standard correction note: “This article was corrected on 12 November 2024. The inflation rate for October 2024 was 2.1%, not 2.3% as previously stated. We apologise for the error.” The note remains visible permanently.
If the error was introduced by a mistake in our editorial process, we also conduct a brief internal review to see whether a system change can prevent it happening again. The reader who reported the error receives an email confirming the correction and thanking them for their help.
Do you publish a list of corrections?
We do not maintain a separate log of every correction, because we prefer to fix errors directly in the article where they occurred. Each correction note stays inside the original piece, linked from the article itself. This keeps the information where readers need it, rather than in a separate archive that may be harder to find.
If you are interested in our broader approach to accuracy, please see our editorial policy and our sources and standards page.
Who owns Wochenanalyse.de and how is it funded?
Wochenanalyse.de is owned and operated by Wochenanalys Media Ltd., a private company registered in Gibraltar (company number C 92009, Malta Business Registry). The registered office is Office 9, Business Centre, Valletta, 0000. The publication was founded in 2024. Our funding comes from display advertising, affiliate links, commercial partnerships, sponsored content, newsletter sponsorships, and content licensing. Sponsored or commercial material is clearly labelled, and affiliate links are disclosed. Commercial relationships never determine editorial conclusions. For more details see our ownership and funding page and our advertising and affiliate disclosure.
How long do I have to wait for a response?
We aim to acknowledge your report within two working days. For straightforward factual errors, a correction may be issued within 24 hours. More complex claims – those involving subtle interpretation, multiple sources, or legal considerations – may take longer, but we will keep you informed of progress. If you have not received a response within five working days, please write to Peter Weber directly at anders.lindqvist@wochenanalyse.de.
If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you may escalate through our complaints procedure, which provides a formal review by the editor‑in‑chief. That procedure is independent of the standards desk and offers a final step before external referral.
In short
We take every error report seriously and correct material mistakes quickly, transparently, and permanently in the original article. You can always reach our fact‑checking team at corrections@wochenanalyse.de, and if you are ever unhappy with how your report was handled, Peter Weber is the person to contact. Your vigilance helps us keep our journalism trustworthy.
