Werbe- & Affiliate-Hinweise

This page explains how Wochenanalyse.de funds its journalism while keeping editorial decisions entirely independent. Use it to understand the role of advertising and affiliate links in our business model, and to see how we ensure that commercial interests never shape the stories we publish.

How does Wochenanalyse.de make money?

Wochenanalyse.de generates revenue through display advertising, affiliate links, commercial partnerships, sponsored content, newsletter sponsorships and content licensing. These income streams allow us to keep our reporting free for readers and invest in rigorous editorial processes.

We accept display advertisements that are clearly separated from editorial content. Sponsored or commercial material is always labelled as such, and affiliate links are disclosed. None of these funding sources determine which stories we cover or how we cover them.

What are affiliate links and how do they affect you?

Affiliate links are special URLs that can earn Wochenanalyse Media Ltd. a small commission if you click through and make a purchase. This comes at no extra cost to you. The decision to include an affiliate link is always editorial – we only link to products or services we consider genuinely useful or relevant to the article.

Every article that contains affiliate links includes a clear disclosure near the link or at the end of the piece. Our writers and editors never receive commissions directly, and no commercial arrangement can influence the content we produce. If you have any questions about a specific link, you can reach our partnerships team at partnerships@wochenanalyse.de.

How this works in practice

Imagine a reader in Germany clicks an affiliate link in our “Best Swedish crime novels” article to buy a book at a popular online bookstore. Wochenanalyse.de receives a small percentage of the sale, but the price the reader pays is identical to what they would pay without the link. The article itself was written by our kultur- och samhällsredaktör, Jan Martin, based on independent editorial judgement – no retailer had any say in which books were recommended or how they were described.

If that article were sponsored, it would carry a prominent label such as “Sponsored content” and link to our full Sponsored Content Policy. In either case, the reader can trust that the recommendation reflects the journalist’s honest opinion, not a commercial brief.

Who owns and funds Wochenanalyse.de?

Wochenanalyse.de is owned and operated by Wochenanalys Media Ltd., a private company registered in Gibraltar (company number C 92009, Malta Business Registry) with its registered office at Office 9, Business Centre, Valletta, 0000. Our funding comes entirely from the commercial activities listed above, plus occasional content-licensing agreements. Full details are available on our Ownership & Funding page.

No single advertiser, sponsor or partner holds a controlling stake or can dictate editorial direction. The publication is led by Chefredaktör Peter Weber, who reports to the board of Wochenanalys Media Ltd. but exercises independent editorial authority over all content published on the site.

How do we protect editorial independence?

Our editorial team decides what to cover and how to present it without input from advertising or commercial partners. Sponsored content is clearly separated from journalism, and affiliate-link decisions are made by the writer and editor, not by the business side. Every piece of editorial content is fact-checked and approved by a human editor before publication, as set out in our Editorial Policy.

If you believe commercial pressure has influenced a story, please contact our fact-checking team at factcheck@wochenanalyse.de or use our Complaints Procedure. We take such concerns seriously and investigate them transparently.

In short

Wochenanalyse.de relies on advertising, affiliate links and commercial partnerships to fund independent journalism, but no commercial relationship ever determines our editorial conclusions. If you have questions about how we make money or how a specific article is funded, please email advertising@wochenanalyse.de or partnerships@wochenanalyse.de.
